The subject to the Plan development is a detailed elaboration of the First Metro Line, Phase 2 and the amendments to the Rules of Development and Construction of the general part of the General Regulation plan (GRP) for the rail systems, related to the First Metro Line, Phase 2 which included certain changes to the metro line alignment, resulting in route deviation in the area between Pancevo Bridge and the urban neighbourhood of Mirijevo.
Belgrade Metro System development is based on a combined approach, since the metro system should not only resolve the existing traffic problems and ensure a better population mobility, but also be a generator of the urban tissue and specific city routes development.
The metro system solution given in the referred Plan was defined based on the solution given in the Prefeasibility Study with the General Design for the Metro Line 1 and Line 2 and was based on the technical solution defined in the Preliminary Design for the Metro Line 1 – Phase 2. The Plan elaborates in detail the aboveground zones planned for the construction of metro system facilities and which are located directly next to or on the Metro Line 1 – Phase 2 route.
